1. Install Your New HP Printer
Step-by-Step Process:
- Unbox & Power: Remove all protective tapes, connect the power cord, and turn on the printer.
- Initial Setup: Select your language and region on the printer control panel.
- HP Smart App: Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or PC.
- Pairing: Ensure Bluetooth/Wi-Fi is on; the app will auto-detect your new printer.
2. Installing Inks in HP Printers
Note: Process varies slightly for Inkjet vs. Laserjet models.
Standard Inkjet
Open the cartridge access door. Wait for the carriage to center. Remove orange tabs from the new cartridge and snap it into the color-coded slot.
HP Smart Tank
Open the ink tank covers. Flip the bottle cap and pour into the matching color tank until the line is reached. Do not squeeze bottles.
Bring Offline Printer Online
Go to Devices and Printers in your Control Panel.
Right-click your HP printer and select "See what's printing".
In the menu, uncheck "Use Printer Offline".
Check the SNMP status in the Port settings if it remains offline.
"Driver Unavailable" Error
If Windows/Mac cannot find your driver automatically, try these manual steps:
- Uninstall existing printer software via Apps & Features.
- Visit 123.hp.com to download the generic Easy Start driver.
- Use Windows Update to force a driver catalog refresh.
